Literally the notifs when I'm offline for a day. Best app ever eeeeee.
I was dressed like Harry Potter in the hallowen of 2016. In the central station of Stockholm I asked where platform 9 3/4 was. I wish the Percy Jackson movies were like this. This is very well-done and I love it. ;v. It always feels good to come back and watch the trailers again. Am I the only one who wished Hogwarts was real? I always imagined escaping to a place like that as a kid. 3:14 This is the part where Harry shoves the letter down his pants and runs out onto the front lawn yelling stranger danger whenever they try and get it. Because I don't think Mr. Dursley would be willing to stick his hand down Harry's pants on their front lawn...
3:23 Dan's voice is clearly starting to break. I will not pay to have some crackpot old fool teach him magic tricks! One of the funniest lines ever. Ok potterheads, here this: i showed this to my: myslef now i am harry. my sister, now she is ginny. my mother, now she is Lily. my father, now he's James. my godfather, now he's Sirius. my best friend, now he is ron. my best girl freind, now she's hermione. my house, now its godrics hollow. my blanket, now its the invisbility cloak. my pebble from the lake, now its the resurrection stone. my stick, now its the elder wand. my school, now it's hogwarts. my friends rat, now he's peter pettigrew. my third year proffessor, now he's turned out to be Remus lupin. my head, now its a potterhead. the rest is left to your imagination.
1:38 Aww Ginny is so cute. Hermione went from this to stealing in the Bling Ring. Ron and Harry really did have a bad influence on her. Harry Potter and the Sorceres stone was an OK book, but the movie was acting beside Rupert Grint[Ron] and Maggie Smith[Professer McGonagal] was the worst Radcliffe made Harry loook shy and stupid where he falls in none of those catagories. Emma Watson who played anger paused a lot meaning she forgot her story was a not made for a production made wling[the author] look bad.I usually like fantasy's but this was a horrible one.I want to see how the next Harry Potter movie is if it's as bad as this was I will feel Real bad for Rowling[the author] veiwers never waste your money on this movie.
This scared the shit out of me when i was 6 years old haha awesome
I was 14 when this came out and I had a huge, crazy crush on Quirrell, haha. Everybody else liked either Oliver Wood or Snape, it was frustrating. Being able to have conversations with earmuffs on shows how good they are LMAO. “ 1:57 - 2:05 ” I broke the replay button. Im gonna tell my kids this was the ancient myths. Best 3 minutes of my life. Ron and Harry scene in the Great Hall is touching. I love this scene. It's a sad and touching scene. Harry's tragedy has caught up with him. His grief. He saw his parents in the mirror and learnt what truly happened to them and why. Scene with Snape shouldn't have been deleted. I saw it few weeks ago and I wondered why I can't remember this scene. It is a powerful scene. Good luck💜.
Came back to watch this, and boy, good ass memories came back.
The best Christmas is the Chris Columbus' Christmas 🎄.
Disclaimer: I never grew up on the Harry Potter series nor have I read the books. So my review may be biased.
This film is an introduction to the cultural phenomenon surrounding the Harry Potter universe. With book-to-movie adaptations, there are many things that can go astray. Yet Philosopher's Stone seems to capture the wonderment and childhood terror that makes the series a cross-generational classic.
Also kudos to the actors. Radcliffe, Grint, Watson, et al. gave a stellar performance that charms audiences around the world.
It's a charming firm, lighthearted, and whimsical. There's a ton of world-building that lets audiences' imaginations run wild. The film itself is an impressive watch. Even if the CGI seems a bit dated at some places. but is that a fair critique for a 19 y/o film?
Personally, one complaint I had was how fast time seemed to move in this film. We move from month to month rather disorientingly. But you try compressing a school year in a single 2-hour movie.
The other complaint was based on how things seemed to happen too perfectly for Harry. But I understand that is the book's fault & not the movie's.
3.5/5. Great to watch with family and friends.
Harrys uncle, aunt, and cousin are so mean to him that every time I see the beginning of when he wakes up it makes me want to just go hug my parents. I mean they didnt even give him a real spacious bedroom. “There once was boy named Harry destined to be a star, his parents were killed by Voldemort, who gave him a nasty scar.”. Vernon: Who'd be writing to you? Looks at letter Vernon. Man it wasn't too long ago when I got into harry potter. I thought it would b interesting at the least. Later did I learn after watching the whole series that I was obsessed with it. Prolly one of the best decisions I've ever made.
“Ive got presents? ” Oh my God, Im dying.
